Stanislas Wawrinka Head to Head vs Top-3 players

Stanislas Wawrinka is considered a very talented player ( decent serve, spectacular backhand and very solid forehand, apart from having decent volleys and movement, especially on clay). The only thing that keeps Stan off Top-10 is his mentality, and results vs Top-3 players, whom against he always has chances but never capitalizes. We will see his H2H vs current Top-3 players:

VS Djokovic: 2-11, he won some early meetings in 2006 ( Umag F & Vienna R2), but since then the Serb become a too strong opponent for Stan, altough that hasn’t avoided seeing great matches between the pair ( Basel 2009, where Stan held some match points and Rome 2008, where Nole defeated Wawrinka in the biggest match of the Swiss career, having to fight very hard in three sets).

VS Nadal: 0-8, another really bad H2H for Stanislas, who not only has not won a match vs Nadal, but also he hasn’t taken a set! He always has chances, like in Miami 2009 and Toronto 2010 when Nadal won in two tiebreaks. Still, Nadal always has all the answers for Stan, and just proves to be a bad match-up for him.

VS Federer: 1-10, he usually bends to his compatriot, altough he got a great win over Roger in Monte-Carlo 2009, upseting him in 2 sets [ 6-4 7-5] He has also played some decent matches, like in Stockholm 2010 [ he lost 2-6 6-3 6-2]. Apart from these two matches he has not won a set vs Roger.

Total H2H: 3-29 (9%). The best matchup in Top-3 for Stan is Djokovic, because Nadal and Federer not only beat him but also dominate him easily.
